James Young is passionate about the environment and sustainability. He founded Lighter after recognising the need for more energy efficient and effective lighting in commercial and industrial enterprises.

James has a Masters in Applied Science and has held numerous roles in the private and public sector involving sustainability, renewable energy, carbon emission measurement reduction and financial trading and risk.
